What is a CSA and why would I want to join one? CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. People join one for many reasons. From the convenience of having food regularly delivered without needing to continuously order, to a desire to be socially conscious about your food choices. Farmers use CSAs to help them regulate farm revenue and better understand market demands so that there is less food waste from overproduction.
The Nerdy Girls Farm Ginger CSA supports our continued work to expand our ability to grow herbs and spice plants in Nova Scotia. Our barn conversion is complete and we have more than 3,000 ginger plants growing under cover to extend their season and to provide fresh ginger to the province. Please join us as we make life more flavourful!
Each membership will have 3 ginger orders. Here’s what you get for your $50 subscription – a $58 value:
- October: ½ pound of fresh ginger with leaves AND two boxes of our Big Dinner Tea (enough for a medium sized Thanksgiving gathering)
- November: Two different kinds of pickled ginger
- December: Two packages of candied ginger and a jar of our Ginger-Rhubarb Jam

- Pick up at the farm
- Pick up at the Wolfville Farmers Market
- Dropped off at your house (an extra $5 fee for this. Only Canning, Wolfville, Kentville, and Canaan area)
- WFM2Go (order through wfm2go.ca – there is an extra fee, but this delivers to the HRM and other places in the province)
