Nerdy Girls Farm offers a monthly spice subscription. Each month, we choose a spice or spice blend as our focus. You receive some fresh and/or preserved herbs/spices and information on how to use it. We also include a family-tested recipe to give you a head start on how to use what you have received.
Sign up via the form below. The cost for a Spice Subscription is: $8.50 per month. Subscriptions are for 3, 6, or 12 months. You can arrange to pick up your subscription at the farm, have us deliver it to you (there is a $5 delivery fee added each month for this service and is available within 30kms of New Minas, Nova Scotia), or you can place your order via WFM2Go (the Wolfville Farmers Market delivery service with hubs in many places in Nova Scotia).
Subscriptions this year have included:
Za’atar: a Middle Eastern spice and spice blend along with a recipe for sourdough crust pizza
Dill: Classic for pickling, but we offer our heirloom recipe for dilly bread
Mint: An herb that most folks think of as a warm winter tea. We offered up our summertime Mint Lemon drink as a way to keep cool in the heat.
All Purpose Tex-Mex: Our own blend of spices to create that unique flavour for tacos, fajitas, and other Tex-Mex dishes. The recipe this month included our family taco salad recipe
Sage: Usually thought of a seasoning for meat, we showed another side of this cooling herb through a recipe for fresh pasta with sage-butter sauce
